Hey Everyone… I have never played paintball and wanted to get into the sport. Route 40 is the closest field, unfortunately, there is not much information on their website. So, I was hoping someone would be able answer a few questions.
1. Does Route 40 have pickup games (can I just show up) or do I have belong to a team? 2. Are games categorized by skill level, or does everyone play together? 3. Is the field only open on weekends unless prior arrangements are made, i.e. private games?
Thanks in advance.

Hey man, 40 is a great place to start playing. Especially now with the weather about to break the crowds should start really picking up. 1. Absolutely, you can definitely just show up by yourself. Hours are 10am-4pm sat-sun. There's no specific time. Just show up and play all day. I'd recommend getting there around 11. You'll be classified as a "walk on." 2. Yes there will be beginner walk and advanced walk ons. You will each have a referee and he will split teams accordingly. 3. During the summer mr Tom opens on wed nights from 5pm-10pm but it usually dies out around 9-9:30. That won't start till schools let out though so early June I believe.(if he does it this year, but i don't see why he wouldn't.) Yes you can rent the field out privately but I believe you need a group of at least 20 and Tom will open the field for you and your group on a day the works. Hope this helps.

Thanks man,
I appreciate the information!
I bought a 98 custom Tippmann (it was a package deal…) it seems like a good beginner marker, at least from the reviews… cant wait to try it out.
I was also wondering could I bring my own paint or do I have to purchase it at the field?
Thanks again.

yeah the 98 custom is what most fields will rent out because they are the most durable gun there is. I'd say 75% of people start out with tippmanns and for good reason. With some VERY basic upkeep, it should shotot forever lol unfortunately it is not bring your own paint. You'll have to purchase your paint through route 40.
NP man. Have fun
